Bringing the European Championships to one of Europe's poorer countries had resulted in massive investment and eight brand new grounds. We give you the lowdown open all ten venues that will be hosting the action in Euro 2004.

LUZ

City - Lisbon

The real Stadium of Light aims to live up to its name, with the ground designed to allow in as much sunlight as possible. The arena is entirely new, and was built next door to the old stadium.

Sporting Lisbon's new home is a daring and ambitious design, part of a large complex comprising houses, shops and services.

Although Porto's existing ground was large, modern and well-equipped to host Euro 2004 matches, designers started from scratch to give the city another top-class stadium.

This purpose-built ground brings world class football to the southern end of Portugal for the first time.
